Maximum service life for your construction machinery: The guide to wear strips & wear parts

In industries like earthmoving, mining, and recycling, materials are unforgiving: every minute a machine is down due to a worn tool costs money. Choosing the right wear parts is therefore crucial for the profitability of your fleet.

In this article, we explain the differences between scraper blades, wear strips, special profiles and reversible blades – and why we make no compromises when it comes to material selection.

Our quality promise: Borox steel from Sweden

We don't just sell wear parts, we use them ourselves. For our products, we consistently rely on Borox steel from Sweden . Its properties are comparable to Hardox: extremely hard, tough, and highly wear-resistant.

Why are we convinced by Borox?

  • In-house production: We use this steel ourselves for our own manufactured spoons and shovels.
  • Practical test: Our partner company Echle Exakt uses these tools daily under the toughest conditions. The positive experiences gained from their daily work directly inform our product selection.

1. Rubbing edges : Robust protection for the spoon shape

Scraper edges (often manufactured with a chamfer) are the classic wear part to protect the basic cutting edge of excavator buckets or wheel loader buckets from direct abrasion.

  • Versatility: Our moldings are available in various widths and thicknesses. The length is individually cut to your specifications .
  • Custom installation: Even with our chamfered scraper edges, you're not bound by standards. Upon request, we can create a custom drilling pattern so the edge can be screwed precisely to your mounting device.

2. Reversible blade : Efficiency through two cutting edges

Reversible blades are the economical choice for tough, continuous use. As soon as one side is worn, the blade is flipped – this doubles the service life of your tool.

We offer you two tailor-made solutions here:

  • With plow-bolt holes: These blades feature factory-drilled square holes. They are optimized for use with plow bolts and allow for quick, flush blade changes.
  • Screw-on reversible blade without holes: If your shovel has a special mount, we supply the blade undrilled. We can then drill any custom hole pattern according to your specifications , ensuring a perfect fit.

3. Special profiles : Maximum stability

Special profiles are used where special geometries are required for material flow or extreme stability.

  • Flexible installation: To make your work in the workshop as easy as possible, we offer special profiles in both drilled and undrilled versions . This allows you to decide whether you want to screw or weld them in place.

4. Wear stripes : Armor for eternity

Wear strips serve as an additional protective layer in high-stress areas, such as the sidewalls or bottom of backhoe buckets and shovels. As with our entire product range, you choose the appropriate thickness and width – we adjust the length to the exact centimeter.

Why buy from us? Your custom-made knife

We don't deliver standard, off-the-shelf solutions, but rather tools that fit your machine:
